LYMPHATIC TAPING WITH KINESIO TAPE
LYMPHATIC TAPING WITH KINESIO TAPE
One-Day Professional Training
Please email for dates and details of how to pay deposit.
Already trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) or Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage (BLD) and looking to expand your treatment toolkit?
This one-day practical course teaches you how to incorporate Kinesio Tape into your existing lymphatic treatments to provide additional support for clients experiencing swelling, lymphoedema and post-operative fluid changes.
Kinesio Tape can be used as an adjunct to hands-on lymphatic work, providing ongoing sensory and mechanical input to the tissues between treatments. Rather than simply learning where to stick tape, this course focuses on understanding why you are applying it, what you are aiming to influence and how to adapt your approach to the individual client.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Understanding Kinesio Tape
We will explore the theory behind Kinesio Tape and how its interaction with the skin and superficial tissues may be utilised alongside lymphatic techniques.
You will develop an understanding of:
How Kinesio Tape interacts with the skin and superficial tissues
The relationship between skin, fascia and lymphatic flow
Different taping principles and applications
How tape can be incorporated alongside hands-on lymphatic treatment
Appropriate tension, direction and application techniques
Lymphatic Taping Techniques
You will learn practical taping techniques that can be used to support lymphatic flow and fluid management in different areas of the body.
The course will cover:
Lymphatic drainage pathways and drainage territories
Application techniques for different areas of the body
Adapting applications for individual client presentations
Supporting areas affected by swelling and oedema
Considerations for clients following surgery
Using taping alongside MLD and BLD treatments
Practical application and hands-on learning
Working With Different Clients
We will look at how lymphatic taping may be incorporated into treatment plans for clients experiencing:
Lymphoedema
Oedema and swelling
Post-operative fluid changes
Scar and tissue changes
Reduced lymphatic flow
We will also cover contraindications, precautions and when taping may not be appropriate, so that you can use these techniques safely and responsibly within your scope of practice.
THIS IS MORE THAN A TAPING COURSE
You won't simply learn a collection of taping patterns.
The aim is to help you understand the reasoning behind your application, so you can make informed decisions about when, where and how to use Kinesio Tape with your clients.
You'll leave with practical techniques that can be incorporated into your existing lymphatic treatments and used as an additional tool within your clinic.

This course is designed for therapists who already have a foundation in lymphatic therapy and want to expand their clinical skill set.
Pre-requisite:
MLD or BLD qualification
A recognised qualification is required before attending this course.
